Speed Mentoring is modeled after the speed-dating concept where industry professionals serve as mentors to give valuable career advice to mentees through five-minute one-on-one conversations. This setting is ideal for both students and/or professionals who may be established or exploring a career change. It’s all about meeting people, making connections and helping each other.

Tips for a successful mentor networking experience:

Be prepared. Study the list of mentors in advance and draft some questions for them

Bring your resume and business cards

Arrive early and select an available chair across from a desired mentor that you would like to meet

If you exchanged contact information with a mentor, follow-up with a thank-you note after the event
