One year after the sudden death of her celebrity husband, Katherine Grand receives a phone call that pulls her back to Brussels and the life there that she's tried to forget. Once back, she discovers a web of secrets that compel her to unravel the mysteries surrounding Stefan’s last days alive.

The festival closes Sunday, March 24 at 7:00 pm with a screening of Daisy Winters starring Brooke Shields, Iwan Rheon, Carrie Preston, Sterling Jerins. Directed and written Beth LaMure

Sandy Beach

Daisy Winters is an original story about an eleven-year-old girl's unconventional, yet deeply loving relationship with her mother and what happens when this essential mother/daughter bond is harshly broken. In facing some dark days, Daisy makes a daring choice to pretend that her mother, Sandy, is still alive so she doesn't have to go live with her fanatically religious Aunt Margaret. Doug, the young suspected drug dealer who lives across the street, has his suspicions about Sandy's disappearance which forces Daisy to become even more resourceful and clever in executing her plan. Daisy's and Sandy's journey is about challenging convention, the unexpected joys and sorrows life throws at us and ultimately how to embrace life one moment at a time.

Alliance for Women in Media Southern California will be on-hand to introduce our organization and the Closing Night film to the audience.

About Los Angeles Women's International Film Festival

The festival is produced by Alliance of Women Filmmakers, an organization established to empower women filmmakers to create diverse roles for women as well as increase exposure for women causes. Each year in March, the festival showcases narratives, documentaries, animation and student short films made by women. In addition to providing women a platform to share their unique stories, the festival serves as a fundraiser for women causes.
